This Labor Day weekend, Arlington, TX became the epicenter of majorette dance as two powerhouse events unfolded: Buck or Die Worlds and its sister event, Charm School. Both competitions, created by legendary dance entrepreneur Dianna Williams, gave teams a chance to showcase artistry, stamina, and spirit on the national stage.

Buck or Die Worlds featured divisions spanning HBCU, Parent, Junior, and more—welcoming seasoned teams ready for high-stakes showdowns. Charm School, by contrast, offered a stage for new and rising programs to shine among peers while building confidence and momentum. Together, the events embodied the culture of majorette dance: fierce competition mixed with community, pride, and love for the artform.


Buck or Die Worlds Highlights

Extreme Pressure Dance Company

Living up to their motto of applying PRESSURE 💨💨💨, Extreme Pressure Dance Company fought hard all weekend to deliver with both intensity and grace. Their efforts were rewarded with:

  • 🥈 2nd Place Pom

Their coaches praised the resilience of the dancers:

Haus of Heat

Led by Leotist Gordon, Haus of Heat overcame last-minute changes and setbacks to dominate in Arlington. Their fiery determination paid off with:

  • 🏆 Overall Grand Champion

Dancing Beats of Montgomery

The so-called “little country team” from Alabama made their city proud with a powerhouse showing, bringing home serious hardware:

  • 🥇 1st Place Triple Treat
  • 🥈 2nd Place Parent Creative Field Show
  • 🥉 3rd Place Stadium Entrance

Memphis Prancing Tigerettes – Junior Worlds

Under the leadership of Quincy Oliver, the Tigerettes swept the Junior Worlds division:

Kansas City Dynamites – Junior Division

For Shanae Edwards, bringing the Kansas City Dynamites to Buck or Die was the fulfillment of a dream. In the Junior Division, her team’s hard work and passion shone through with:

  • 🥈 2nd Place Stand Battle
  • 🥉 3rd Place Pom

Edwards reflected with gratitude:

Charm School Competition

Charm School, the “baby sister” to Buck or Die, gives newer teams (0–3 years old) a chance to compete among peers while preparing for Worlds-level competition.

This year, Tozada Dance Company, led by Jamar S. Horton, stole the show:

  • 🥇 1st Place Pom
  • 🥇 1st Place Stands
  • 🏆 Overall Grand Champion – Charm School National Winners

Horton celebrated the victory while looking ahead:

“Two years old baby and they are taking this stage by storm! CONGRATULATIONS LADIES.”

Their win also earned Tozada an invitation to Buck or Die Worlds, marking a huge milestone for the young program.
